I believe I have seen things I wish
I believe I have said things I wish
I could take back.
I believe I did things I wish I didn’t. I believe I have felt things
I shouldn’t have.
Alone and hurting, under the moonlight,
I have always wondered why I have to
suffer the way I did.
And, I wished you could have seen me;
with my eyes drowning with regret,
with my hands trembling out of loss.
Then, you should have put a pen gently on my hand; for me
to write the end
of us on our thin paper of fault.
